Viva Las Vegas

The beautiful view from on top of the Eiffel Tower!! We were lucky enough to tag along with the in-laws on a trip to Vegas! I was a little nervous taking the kids but it really was great and we had a blast!

We started in St. George and saw the production if the Little Mermaid at Tuachan!! It was fantastic!!

Sydney and Connor loved the seeing all the cool people at the Venetian!!

Sydney said that after all was said and done her favorite thing was going on the gondola ride on the Canal at the Venetian! She just sparkled and you could tell it was just truly magical for her!

We took another day and headed over to see the Hoover Dam! What an amazing sight!

Ryan really surprised me and Sydney with tickets to see the best dance crew around! They were so entertaining and fantastic to watch :)

Sorry about the sideways pictures but we went over to the Rio and the kids LOVED getting the necklaces and loved all the lights and music! I have such fond memories of this vacation when I was young and it was fun to show my kids!

We made our way over to the Mirage and saw the dolphin and tiger exhibit! They had a baby dolphin that was only 1 month old that the kids loved and the tigers were great to see :)

Viva Las Vegas Part 2

While we were in Las Vegas we decided to take a day and visit the Grand Canyon! It was so beautiful and I am so glad we took the opportunity! Connor was talking to grandma looking out over the edge and said "Grandma, who made this?" To which she answered "Well God did" Connor said "God? Oh yeah I forgot!" He is always making us laugh! We visited the aquarium at Mandalay Bay! so many fun animals that the kids really loved!

Of Course we had to visit Caesar's Palace!

We got some tickets to see Nathan Burton! He is a comedian/magician! The kids loved the show! His magic was great :)

We went swimming almost every morning bright and early. It was fun but the pool was not very fun at all. We were all pretty disappointed but I guess the kids had fun!

Ryan and I were lucky enough to go see the Blue Man group! They were so great!

The Lions at MGM kept the kids entertained for a while! They were very active with their trainers while we were there which made it fun.

We went to M&M World a few times! Of course it was one of the kids favorites!

Summer catch-up

So I am officially the worst blogger but here is a quick update of the past few months!!

Sydney turned 5!! She got a trampoline and a guitar! Both of which get used every day! Total coincidence that I made her a pink guitar cake and grandma and grandpa bought her a pink guitar! I had no idea that is what they were giving her but she had a great day :) These are the kids' Easter outfits! We had the annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt! The Easter bunny stopped at our house and we enjoyed such wonderful Sunday really focusing on the reason for Easter!

Sydney had her dance/gymnastics recital! She loves to take dance and always loves to perform. She practiced so hard and we were so proud of her :)

We had preschool graduation! I can't believe how fast she is growing. She made so many good friends and loved Mrs. Jolynn! She can't wait for kindergarten but is also sad to be leaving Start Smart Preschool!

We had our first sleepover! The girls were so excited and of course Connor had to be part of the fun!

My baby boy is growing up so fast. He makes up laugh each and every day and I just love him to pieces :)

Sydney loves to take Connor on nature hikes around the yard and they have to get all decked out in their gear! I love to see them having an adventure and doing it together!

Sydney completed two sessions of swimming lessons and now she is our little fish! She is so brave and sometimes makes me nervous but by the end of her lessons, she was diving off the diving board!

We spent a few days with family for our annual Park City trip! Always fun to be together :)

Next was another annual event! The Fred and Vauna Moosman family reunion! The look of our reunions have sure changed over the years with all of the little ones now! So many good memories made and fun had by all!

My kids were fearless on the HUGE slip n' slide! We sure enjoyed ourselves! Thanks for all the fun Moosmans!

We celebrated the forth of July by first going to the Kaysville parade! The kids loved it and go tons of candy! We just love having cousins close to do all of this fun stuff with :)

Along with all of the craziness that come with summer, Ryan had ACL surgery on his knee so he was down and out for a few weeks but has since resumed golfing which makes him really happy! Our other cousins moved back home and we are loving having them so close to just call up and play anytime we want! I had my first experience as a youth leader at Youth Conference. It went really well except for the bed bugs that we were plagued with but it is one that no one will forget! I am headed to Girls Camp next week and then off to a family vacation before school starts and life gets back to being a little more normal!!

10 Essential Oils no home should be without

You might be asking yourself why we need essential oils when we can just go to the doctor.The reason is that essential oils are a safer, more natural approach to medacine with no side effects. They can be used on children and even newborns. Eighty percent of the time your illness is a viral infection and there are no "over the counter" medacine to combat a virus, however, essential oils have several studies shwoing the ability to kill a visual infection.

Every home needs ten basic essential oils. These oils are found in the Family Physician Kit and are avaiable at a retail price of $166.00. You can also set up your wholesale account for $150 (it's like having a Costco card for doTERRA.) I use the family physician kit daily for most of my medical needs. It has completely replaced my medacine cabinet. I gathered up all of the things in my home that these oils have replaced and the cost is much more then what these oils would be. Here are a few ways that I use the oils in this kit:

1. Lavender - It is the most versatile and popular oil. It is great for burns and takes away pain and blistering fast! It works very well as a sleep aid and it has a very calming effect. It also works as a natural antihistamine and provides relief from insect bites. Rub on your feet each night for relaxation, or headache relief.

2. Lemon - Use a drop of lemon every day in your water to keep your body acid free (alkaline). Lemon helps clean your lymphatic system. It is excellent for sore throats-- just place a drop on your tongue or gargle with lemon water. You can also use it as a cleaning agent. Lemon oil will clean ninety-nine percent of bacteria. I use lemon oil to disinfect all the surfaces in my home.

3. Peppermint - It has been double-blind studied against Tylenol and was proven to be just as effective in treating headaches. Peppermint Oil was reported by the Mayo Clinic as being one of the most promising treatments for I.B.S. It is fantastic for digestive issues and when inhaled it will stimulate the brain to increase alertness. Peppermint can also give you a little pick me up. When I am tired or dragging, I will put two drops in my hands, inhale it a few times and then rub on the back of my neck. Ryan takes this oil golfing of really hot days for a little cool relief.

4. Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil) - This is fantastic for acne since most acne medications are antibacterial creams, melaleuca is antibacterial. It is also great for most skin conditions: general rashes, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, and MRSA. You can rub it on your head to control dandruff and on your chest for coughs.

5. Deep Blue - It reduces inflammations and relieves sore muscles and back aches. Use this oil on all sport related injuries and will also relieve headaches. Ryan uses this oil all the time on all of his sports injuries and loves it!

6. Oregano - It is your heaviest fighter oil with several studies proving its ability to kill MRSA (staph infection). It is one of the most important oils to use when fighting any infection. It is a very hot oil and must be diluted with any carrier oil (Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Almond Oil etc) to apply topically.

7. On Guard - This oil helps to strengthen your immune system. This is great for disinfecting via a diffuser. Rub this on your feet every night for cold prevention. For a sore throat, add one drop to a little water, gargle and then swallow.

8. Breathe - Use this oil from respiratory infections, coughs, or asthma symptoms. Rub it on your chest to help combat congestion. Rub on chest and under your nostrils to help with snoring. Unlike other Vapor Rubs, Breathe will actually assist your body in fighting off the infection.

9. DigestZen - this blend will work for any digestive disorder: Acid Reflux, heartburn, H.Pylori Bacteria, diarrhea, Constipation, IBS, etc. I use this oil all the time on Sydney because she seems to suffer from tummy aches often. I always have it with me and within five minutes, she has stopped complaining and she says she is feeling better. Rub four drops of DigestZen on your stomach for all the above. Seventy percent of your immune function is through your GI so if you have a compromised GI you have a compromised immune system. Using DigestZen will help strengthen immune system.

10. Frankincense - this oil contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood-brain barrier. It may help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands. Many people believe it helps with anxiety and depression. Several studies have been done on Frankincense and its ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

These are just a few ways these oils can help you and your family. If you have any questions or are interested getting these oils in you home- let me know! I have been using them in my home for over two years and I can not begin to tell you the many ways that they have blessed my family!

A little scary

Connor's hair grows so fast. You would think we would not have a problem getting him a hair cut since we see his beautician grandma weekly. It kept getting put off so Ryan decided to take matters into his own hands! Connor thought is was so cool that daddy was cutting his hair and he actually did a great job :)

My Grandma

I have the most wonderful grandma in the world. She just celebrated her 80th birthday! We went to visit her and I just couldn't pass up the chance to get a four generation picture on her special day! My kids love to go see their grandma and grandpa Moosman and I will never forget the memories that I have of my grandma and the wonderful person that she is. She is the most elegant lady you will ever meet. This has been a hard year for her but we love her dearly and look forward to many more memories to come! Love you Grandma :)

We have another tradition that the kids love to do. Grandma Linda makes some sort of dough and the kids get to make these little snowmen. We decorate them with scarves, earmuffs or is Sydney's case, she was making some crazy creations.

Sydney had another year of dance and gymnastics. This year she graduated to the big gym so they got to do floor routines, the beam, bars, and trampoline! She loves it and is getting better each week. She had her Christmas Show to show us all the new tricks she can do! We are so proud of you Syd :)

She was a little timid about her dance (if you can't tell :) but she did a great job. She practiced alot, so much that even Connor was doing her dance with her!

Every year one of Santa's little elves, Christopher Pop-in-kins, comes to out house to watch over our kids and make sure they are being good until Christmas. He just showed up today to start watching Connor and Sydney. If the first few hours are any indication they will be on their best behavior to make sure Christopher only has good things to tell Santa. Christopher also brought the kids their Christmas pajamas, so they could wear them during the holiday season.

This picture is not the best but we think Sydney got bit by a spider while playing outside while Ryan mowed the lawn. Her ankle is now double in size and super hot and red. She is on some pretty strong antibiotics to make sure the infection doesn't move into her blood stream. She is kind of miserable and I feel so bad for her. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for her :)

We have had so much fun this summer going to the Kaysville Farmers Market! Today they were having a cooking contest all about apples. Sydney begged me to help her enter so we thought of something that she could make all on her own and we came up with Toffee Apple Dip. She was so excited to enter the contest and we took it over to be judged. She didn't win this time but we are so proud of her for entering! I have a feeling that she will be entering many more cooking contests. She loves to help me in the kitchen! Here is the recipe:
1 8 oz. Cream Cheese
3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
-Cream everything together and serve with Granny Smith apple slices!!

Hill Aerospace Museum

We took the kids to the Hill Air Force Museum. We had so much fun looking in all of the planes and jets. We will for sure take the kids back again when they are a little older and can appreciate it a little more but it was a very fun Free family activity!! The kids had a blast on the planes that they could sit in the pilot's seat and drive the plane!

We had a great time on our trip to Yellowstone! We saw lots of wildlife and Sydney even earned her Jr. Ranger badge. It was kind of fun when we went to the ranger station after she had done all of the requirements, the ranger got every ones attention in the building and had a little ceremony for her. We did have a few things happen like Sydney got sick one night and so we spent the night on the bathroom floor. Which I hate doing at home, let alone in a hotel room, we, well I, lost the car keys. We all jumped out to see a moose and somehow they fell out of my coat into the sagebrush. After searching for a while- we finally found them! Thank goodness because I was not looking forward to spending a night under the stars! We made lots of memories and saw some amazing things that this wonderful earth has to offer!

Road Trip Idea

So on our recent road trip to Yellowstone I knew I had to be prepared with things to entertain my kids. So first I started with four pringles cans:

Next I covered them with cute road trip paper (optional of course :) Filled them with snacks, activities, coloring pages, puzzle pages, etc.

Now I had four cans, one for each hour we were going to be on the road, that would be easy to pack, a surprise for my kids and they were a big success!!

Sydney has started back to preschool again! She has a great teacher and very fun kids on her class. When I picked her up after her first day, I said "Syd, how was it?" she said "Oh mom, it was awesome!" So hopefully we are in for a good year! Love ya Syd :)

Our Summer

My pictures are completely out of order but we have had a busy July. Ryan and I both celebrate our birthdays in July and with all the other holidays we did a lot of celebrating. Having fun and making memories with our family was by far the best!

We had so much fun at snowbird. I have so many fond memories growing up going to Snowbird and it was fun to have my kids there!

Sydney completed two sessions of swimming lessons and did such a great job!

We enjoyed the mountains at Deer Valley over the Forth and got to go horse back riding!

We had fun with Ryan's family over the Fourth of July in Park City!

Wonderful Walt Disney World

We had the opportunity to go on the most wonderful trip to Florida! We spent time at the beach, went to all the fun parks and just had the time of our lives! Sydney loved seeing all the characters and princesses. Connor was so fun to watch. He loved just looking around and taking it all in! His new favorite thing is "Mick Mick" or Mickey Mouse! We rode tons of rides and saw lots of shows! We spent some time in Tampa at the beach until we were forced out by a wicked thunderstorm. We had such a wonderful time and it will be one we will remember forever!

Our New Addition

So we are totally push over parents!! We took Sydney to Rockin E Country Store to see the baby chicks last Saturday. When we walked in Sydney saw the baby bunnies right next to them and she started saying "Oh mom they are so cute and it would be so fun to have one!" I just said oh yeah it would be fun. The Next thing we knew Sydney was picking out the one she wanted to take home. We have never even discussed having a pet but she has been so much fun and the kids just love her! She is pretty spoiled but we are happy to have her. After many name debates, Sydney came up with the name Belle. right after daddy talked her out of Sleeping Beauty!

Olympics

This is what has filled our home for the last week! A quick funny story-- Sydney LOVES to watch the ice skaters and dances right along with them. We were in the car the other day and she said "Mom, I think I want to go to the Olympics!" I very excitedly said- "oh yeah, and what would you like to do?" And she quickly replied " I want to be a cheerleader" I said "Syd, they don't have cheerleaders at the Olympics." She thought for a minute and said "Ok Then I want to be an ice skater." She asks every night if they are going to be on so she can dance! We have really enjoyed watching all the Olympics has to offer! Hope you have enjoyed it to :)

Crazy month

I am a little behind making some goals for the new year and I am still putting it off so this post will just be a little on the family! Ryan is busier than ever. Zions Bank is in taking over everyday operations for Barnes Bank until the middle of February and so Ryan has been working at the Barnes Bank branch in Bountiful. We have loved having him closer but he has worked alot of long days and Saturdays but he is enjoying his time. I have tried to pick up a few new hobbies so I will keep you posted on how it is going later when I decide if I am really serious about it :) Just tonight Connor took his first steps. He is growing so fast. Just took him to his 15 month appointment and he weighs 26 lbs. Therefore he is very hard for me to hold for a long period of time so first steps are a welcome milestone!! Sydney is loving school and this week they learned about opposites! She is learning so much and is such a smart girl! I know it is way over due but I just have to post a few pictures of Christmas- so here are my pictures keeping the season alive for a few more days!!

Christmas Season

I know that I am totally behind on this blog but I wanted to update about our great Christmas season!! We pack many things in but had a great time with family and friends. We started off the season by getting the kids pictures taken with Santa and so they could put in their requests for Christmas! Connor was not very excited that I was handing him over to a strange man but we did get one good picture!

Sydney preformed in her first ballet recital! She did Awesome and a big thanks to Miss Brittney for her patience :)

Next was Sydney's Christmas preschool program. She memorized her part and loved singing all of the songs with her class.

We took a ride on the Polar Express to the North Pole to see Santa. The kids really had a good time.

Along with Ryan's family we went to see This is the Place state park. We had so much fun. The kids made crafts, we went to the school house and danced and enjoyed some good food!

We went on a carriage ride in Downtown Salt Lake to see all the lights at Temple Square. It was lightly snowing and so much fun. A tradition we look forward to each year!

We also hit up Zoo Lights. It was soooo cold but loved seeing all the lights in one place. It is something we will for sure try to do next year but maybe pick a little warmer night!

I didn't get any pictures but we also went to see the village on Historic 25th street in Ogden! We watch lots of Christmas shows and sang lots of Christmas carols and had a Wonderful Christmas season :)

I can't believe that she is already starting this phase of life but it is great and she absolutely loves it! She loves to come home and tell us what she did and show us her projects! We have had some fun days that last couple of weeks. It all started when Tiffany and the kids came for a visit. Let me tell you Sydney was more than thrilled to have Cameron and Brooklyn her for a visit! We had so much fun swimming, going to Kangaroo Zoo, we had a picnic, and just played and played! We also had the annual Moosman Family Reunion! Thanks to my mom for the wonderful day that she put together and for the memories that will last forever! We are so sad that Adam and his family had to go back so soon but it was fun having them here! I celebrated my 24th birthday on the 3rd of July! We had a fun day together with the family! On the forth, we headed to Park City for another week of fun and relaxation with Ryan's family! Thanks Ron and Linda for providing a place for us to enjoy together! We did all there is to do there and had a great time being together! Now the weather is really heating up but we are looking forward to more fun days while summer lasts!

Free Projects

So many of you have been asking about the free classes I talked about in my last post so here are the details. Home Depot has a free kids class the first Saturday of every month. The Home Depot in Layton has the most popular kids club so I suggest being there early. It starts at 9:00-It is first come first serve- The Centerville Home Depot does it also but we have only been to the one in Layton so I would call them and ask for details. Now Lowes does their classes every two weeks. This class you do need to sign up for. You can do it in store or online! They start, I believe at 10:00. We have had so much fun on Saturdays doing these projects and Sydney loves hammering and they get little aprons and either a pin from Home Depot or a patch from Lowes to add to your aprons. Anyway hope this info has helped and hey its free- so why not :)

Sydney has been building up a storm! We have been going to Home Depot and Lowes on Saturdays where they offer free classes for the kids. This is just one project that she has made.

I am a little behind updating this thing but here are a few things we have been up to:

We spent a great day at the Tulip Festival! If you have never been we highly recommend it!

Connor is now six months old! We have had a few bumps in the road but he is healthy and happy. He will not eat any solids but we will keep trying! He weighs a whopping 21.6 lbs. The doctor told us not to worry about him not eating because he is clearly doing fine :) We like to call him out little Tank :)

Sydney has discovered a new trick and she is very proud of it.

We celebrated Sydney's birthday with family. Having cake and ice cream and opening presents. We went bowling and had such a fun weekend.

Sydney got a new BIG girl bed for her birthday and she is loving it! We are still working on the decorating of her room but the bed was the first step :)

Ryan was getting Sydney some breakfast this morning and she was sitting at the table and this is the convesation that they had:

Ryan: "How did you sleep?"
Sydney: "Good I guess."

A few seconds later she said "Dad, guess what? We forgot to wash my armpits last night in the tub!"

We both just busted up laughing but Sydney couldn't figure out what was so funny. She was dead serious!

One more thig- We went shopping with my mom the other day and we told Sydney that we needed to get a baby gift and she said-
"I think they have things for babies at Toys R Us. That would be a fun place to go."

She sure is a clever girl :)

We have had a fun couple of weeks- We joined Ryan at work for a dinosaur exhibit-

Sydney loves being a big sister and is constantly asking to hold her baby brother-

We spent some time at Kangaroo Zoo with Annie and the girls had a great time playing together and are looking forward to more fun outings together!-

Connor is getting bigger by the day! People ask me all the time if he is like six months old and I have to say-well almost four. He is such a big boy but we love all his rolls and everything about him to death :)

And last but not least- Ryan got a new job! He is the branch manager of Zions Bank in north Ogden. This picture is all the people that work for him in his branch. He is really enjoying it and all the new responsibility! I am so proud of him and couldn't be more grateful that he has such a good job and is willing to work so hard for our little family!

We had such a great time in Mexico. We went to stayed at the Grand Occidental Xcaret that is about an hour outside of Cancun. It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect! Here are a few highlights from our trip:

We had a great Christmas this year. We started our celebrations Christmas Eve with dinner with Ryan's family. We then headed to my Grandma and Grandpa Moosmans house for our traditional games and presents. We enjoyed some great Christmas Jingo and good company. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! Then we headed home to open p.j's and get into bed so Santa could come to our house! We woke up to so great things thanks to Santa. My parents came to open presents with us that morning and it was great t have them there! We then headed to Ryan's sisters house for lots of craziness! We always have fun with the kids and it was fun to see them all open their gifts. We had a great breakfast and just relaxed! We then headed to my parents house to open gifts from grandma and grandpa! We were spoiled by everyone and we love you all! We ran up to see Ryan's grandpa and some more family! Overall it was very relaxing and very fun! I love Christmas and it was so fun for Sydney to understand Christmas this year. She loved everything about the season and opening gifts. She thought it was even better because she got to open all of Connor's to so she was in heaven! We hope you all had a great Holiday Season! Welcome 2009 :)

We had the kids pictures taken with Santa this year. He is so darling and so good with the kids. He really takes time to talk to them and answer all their questions. Sydney told me when we got there that she only wanted to stand by him she didn't want to sit on his lap. I know that day will come when she doesn't want to sit on his lap any more so if it takes a few years to her to be comfortable then I am OK with it! She was however very excited to tell him that she wanted a princess castle for Christmas! We are counting down the days! While we had the kids all dressed up we decided to take a few of our own! This year for halloween Sydney wanted to be Winnie the Pooh until we went to Disneyland and her mind was quickly changed when she saw the princesses.She was excited for trick-or-treating except she cried everytime she saw something scary. We decided to go to my sister-in-laws house and let the cousins play. We had a good time. Connor even got into the action and we decided that he needed to be our little superman!

A little catch up

Life has been a little crazy lately and I know it is going to even crazier as the arrival of baby Connor is just a few days away! We are getting very excited. In fact I am taking a little break right now from cleaning my house from top to bottom so everything is ready for Connor to come. Here are a few things we have been up to lately:

-Ryan has been keeping us busy with all of his sports. He finished up a great season of softball by winning the regular season and taking second in the tournament. He has also found another new thing to keep him busy: Flag football. He plays with some friends from high school as well as with the guys from our ward. He is also playing indoor soccer right now. Sydney and I love to support him and go to all of his games.

-Sydney is just growing by the day and keeps us laughing. She has such a funny personality and comes up with some wacky stuff. She loves anything yellow and is very excited to teach baby brother all there is to know in the world. She asks me all the time "Mom, when baby brother gets big can I teach him...pretty much anything from kneeling up to the table to dancing when the music comes on" She is so funny.

-We did take a trip to Disneyland in September and had a great time. Sydney loved it and we pretty much catered to anything she wanted to do.

-I have just been enjoying the nice weather and also getting bigger by the day :) Just kidding but I have decided that baby number two is harder on the body then number one but I know I will look back and miss it when he is finally here. Some of our good friends have had babies in the past few months so we are looking forward to having some play dates in the future.

Sorry to go on so long but I have not written in my journal for a long time so thanks for letting me vent some feelings and memories! Enjoy :)

Five Years Later

So here we are five years later. Ryan and I celebrated our five year anniversary on September 4th. We were on vacation in California and spent the actual day at the beach and just being together. SO here we are with a 2 1/2 year old and now I am eight months pregnant with number two. We are loving life and look forward to many more wonderful anniversaries in the future! I love my husband so much and and I am grateful each day for the father and husband that he is!

A few new things

So Ryan and I have been without a computer for a while now. Our laptop crashed and we have been debating what to do and so finally we have ordered a new one but it will still be a few weeks till it will be here but at least there is an end in sight! We have been having a great summer. I am loving just being a mom and playing with Sydney everyday! We have played in the backyard in Sydney's little pool, we have gone to the park and played alot with cousins and Grandmas and Grandpas (probably Sydney's favorite thing to do :) Sydney is now potty trained! It is the greatest thing in the world. My goal was to have it done before the baby comes so I guess I have accomplished my goal. She loves to sing and talk on the phone. She has learned to sing "Called to Serve" and it has got to be the cutest thing ever! There are days that she tests my patience but for the most part we have so much fun. We are getting very excited for baby brother to be born. Only about 10 weeks to go. I can't believe he will be part of our family so soon but I know that Sydney is very excited. She talks to him all the time and sings him songs. Since I have no computer I don't have access to any of my pictures but I do have some new ones to post so soon enough hopefully I will have some fun things to add here but for now that is what our family has been up to :)

Happy (Late) Birthday

I know it is a few days late but I have to wish a happy birthday to my wonderful husband. I love him so much and he is so wonderful to provide for our family and is the best dad anyone could ask for! On Ryan's actual birthday he took the day off work and we went and saw the new Batman movie. It was really good. Next Ryan got to do his favorite thing.. play a round of golf- then we met up with his family and had some great Chinese food at the Mandrin and to our house for some cake and ice cream. Ryan got a Wii for his birthday so we are looking forward to many fun times with the Wii. The birthday celebrations continued Saturday when my parents took us out to one of our favorite restaurants... Market Street! Thanks everyone for making it a good one for the most important man in my life! I love you babe- and look forward to 28 more wonderful years with you :)

We had a fun week for the forth of July. We spent the week in Park City with Ryan's family. We did lots of fun things while we were there and it was fun to just get away from home for a few days. Sydney went on her first Alpine Slide ride, we celebrated my birthday and I was lucky enough to have my parents come up and spend some time with us and we had a great time. We have had a few firsts in our home lately! Sydney is just growing so fast and becoming a big girl! She slept in curlers for the first time which is definatly a big girl thing. We decided to take Sydney's crib down and she now has a new bed. She was so excited while daddy "built" it for her and she has done great sleeping there. I put on a before and after picture of the bed experience and she is more than happy to turn her crib over to her baby brother when he comes.

We had the opportunity to go to Bear Lake over the weekend with some friends and we had a great time. It was very relaxing and we playing lots of games and laughed together alot! Mothers Day

I know that I am a day late but Mother's Day was great! Ryan fixed me breakfast while Sydney slept in till 9:30 and we had a good day together as a family and at church and then off to see our moms! I love being a mom more than anything! My life pretty much revloves around Sydney right now and I would not have it any other way!
I could not do this post with out recognizing my own mother and mother-in-law. My mom is truly my best friend and I could not ask for a better mom! I love you mom and thanks for all you do! Spring is Finally Here!

Well a lot has changed since the last time that I posted! Spring is finally here and we are loving the warm weather! Ryan and I have been working in the yard a lot lately and Sydney's favorite thing to do is go to the park! I love this time of year. We also went to the Tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point. I was a little disappointed because I have seen it a lot more spectacular but it was still fun to be there and Sydney had such a good time with her cousins. We celebrated Sydney's second birthday on April 17th! My baby is growing so fast but she is such a joy. She was way to spoiled but we had a good time.

I have gone back to work a few days a week and I am enjoying it so much. It is just a temporary thing and my time is almost up but I am so glad that I had the opportunity to do it for a while! Sydney had a great time with grandma while I worked and will sure miss the days when she can spend all day playing with grandma! Probably the biggest thing that has happened in a while is that we are having another baby! We are so excited and the doctor is 95% sure that we are having a boy. My two best friends are also having babies and I am so excited to finally have friends that have kids the same age as my kids! Sydney kind of understands what is going on but she sometimes says that we need to get baby brother from the store! She knows that she gets to play and have a sucker when we go to the doctor but the further along I get I think she will catch on! Well this post has been long enough but that is a quick update about our family!

Sydney loves to sing the ABC's. She sings the whole thing almost perfect and actually understandable. She always asks me to sing with her and so I say "OK I'm ready" so today this is how our conversation went
Sydney: "Are you ready mommy?"
Mom: "Yes Sydney I'm ready."
Sydney: "Dora Ready? (pause) Boots ready? OK here we go."
And then she proceeded to sing the whole song and at the end this is what she said: "Now I know my ABC's next time won't you sing with Sydney."
She was so proud of herself and so was I :)

Long Overdue!

I know a new post has been long over due but we have been busy trying to get Sydney feeling better! After coming home from Memphis and her being sick, after about a week and a half she was not getting any better with a high fever and not sleeping well at night so I decided it was time to see the doctor! We took her in and she had a double ear infection and was one miserable girl. But through it all we have had some fun in the last couple of weeks! Here are a few highlights to go along with the pictures! :
1-Sydney has found her new sense of sytl in dressing her self.
2-She has a new battle wound that she got at Grandma's house
3-Her little rocking horse is her new best friend
She loves her doll house and likes to put everyone in their proper place. If you look closly you can see Dora and Boots in the bed and that is where they go each time we play doll house!
4-Her favorite thing to do any given day is take a bath and we have taken plenty these past few weeks with her not feeling well.

Another thing that I have been so happy about it is my house is finally getting decorated. My mom came over the other day and kicked me in the butt a little and gave me some inspiration and helped me hang some things on the walls and get some new curtains! My house is finally coming together the way I want it! Thanks mom! (Pictures will come later :)

A Fun Week

This is kind of a long post.... Sorry :)

I have not posted for a while but I really did have a good reason. This past week Sydney, my mom and dad and I went to Memphis Tennessee to see my brother and his family. They just had a new baby! Baby Brooklyn as Sydney calls her. After a long day traveling, my mom and I arrived in Memphis and just in time for Sydney and Cameron to see each other and play before it was bed time! Adam took me down to his school to look around and it was pretty cool! We loved watching the kids play together and Sydney especially liked being a little mom to the baby. We relaxed a little and I had my first taste of southern BBQ! It was so good. Sydney even loved it. The next day my dad arrived and Cameron was feeling a little under the weather so we just stayed close and played in the back yard. We went downtown on Thursday and the guys went to the Gibson Guitar museum and we took the kids to see the ducks at the Peabody hotel. We ate dinner at BB Kings and had the best ribs ever! After that Tiff got sick and it seemed like we were just passing it around. We took the kids to the mall and they have a merry go round and play place that they enjoyed! We celebrated my mom birthday on Wednesday! Happy Birthday mom- I love you! Anyway while we were all there we also decided to have a little b-day party for Cameron. his really birthday is the 14Th but a two year old doesn't know the difference so on Saturday we went to the zoo. It is such a nice zoo! We asked the kids what they wanted to see and Sydney said "pigs" and I think Cameron said "sheep" we were a little worried but they had a farm section and so all our needs were met! On Sunday Brooklyn was blessed and it was wonderful! We flew home Monday but now I have a very sick little girl on my hands. She was so miserable on the flight home but she did pretty well considering the circumstances! I have never seen her as sick as she is right now. She can barely talk and just lays on me. I selfishly love it but hope that we can get her feeling better soon! We sure missed Ryan while we were gone but were grateful to go and see them! Thanks for having us guys! We love you- Thanks every one for reading this long post- it was mostly for me to remember what we did while we were there! I need to get the pictures off my mom's camera and I will post some pictures!

Flash Back

Last night Sydney was in the bedroom watching Finding Nemo and was being pretty quiet which is not very normal. I was working on some paper work and Ryan was playing Playstation and from the other room we hear " Nemo get back here!" It was the part in the movie that Nemo has just been taken and his dad is trying to keep up with the boat. I just got the biggest grin on my face and it reminded me of a time when I was little. As a little girl my favorite show was Wizard of Oz. My mom tells me that I used to stand on the couch and yell "Run Toto Run" during the movie so when I heard Sydney yelling at Nemo it just made me smile :)

Sydney just entertains us each and every day! She loves to watch Dora all the time and she always says "I'm a map, I'm a map" and those of you with kids know exactly what I am talking about! She also found another hiding place under her crib. She takes all of her toys under there and just loves her little hideout. In the picture below with her little dolly she carries it around with her all the time and she calls her "pooky" it is so cute! Today I told her that we were going to go to the store and as she was walking away and I just kind of said to myself "so you can get your wiggles out" Thinking nothing of it I cleaned up breakfast and went to get her dressed. I said "Sydney we need to get dressed so we can go to the store" and she looked at me and said "so I can get my wiggles out mommy?" I laughed so hard and then she kept doing it because it got a reaction out of me. We were changing her diaper and I said " Oh Sydney you crack me up" and she laughed and said "Yeah I crack you up!" So that is just a glimpse into a day in the life of Sydney and mommy!
