Our Home

Lots of you have been asking to see pictures of our house. Well I had this one so I decided to post it. It is kind of dark but this is the front of our new home that we just love! More pictures will come later when I get around to taking some! Enjoy

Ryan and I had a little tree in our old apartment and when we moved into our house and got it set up we relized that it was not going to work. It looked fine in our little apartment but it looked pretty sad once we put it into our living room so my wonderful husband bought me this beautiful tree and with help from his mom we got it all decorated and I have to brag a little but I was so happy how it turned out!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and Santa spoiled us all! Sydney as you can tell was so excited on Christmas morning! It was so much fun to watch her face light up! She got way to many things but we had so much fun reguardless.

On Christmas Eve was always go with Ryan's family to dinner and then a carriage ride in downtown Salt Lake. It was a blizzard outside while we were eating but the snow cleared and the carrage ride was great. We bundled up because it was freexing but Sydney didn't seem to mind.

Santa Claus

We took Sydney to have her picture taken with Santa. All week we told her we were going to go and see him and he would give her a treat. She was so excited and all week when we would say Santa she goes "Ho Ho Ho". So we woke up Saturday morning and told here we were going to see Santa today and she looked at us and stopped and said "No Santa" I was a little nervous but we were going anyway. We got her all dressed in her pretty dress and were ready to go. She had a good time running around the halls with her cousins and then it was our turn. When we walked in Santa said a big "Ho Ho Ho" and she turned so fast and looked at him and just started to scream. She was literally shaking in my arms at the thought of having to go and sit on Santa's lap. I finally just had to set her down and let her cry. The bottom picture was the very first one as you can tell she is scared out of her mind but then after a minute the top picture was the best smile she could muster. She was so cute when she got her treat from Santa she was not done crying but she choked out a "thank you Santa bye bye Santa." Then on the ride home she kept saying "Santa hold me, Santa hold me." We asked if she like Santa and she said yes, then we ask if she wanted to go back and see Santa "No!" I guess we will never forget this Santa picture where Sydney was scared to death. Hopefully next year will be better!

My New Dress

I was so excited to dress Sydney in her new Christmas dress. I just love Christmas time and by the look on Sydney's face I think she does to! She is becoming this little person and it blows my mind each and every day to watch her learn new things and be delighted by things that little girls love.

Tuckered Out

Sydney had a hard time going to nursery yesterday but once she warmed up and got playing she had a great time! On our way home I told her that it was time to take a nap. We got home and we tried to lay her down and she was not very happy. So we decided she could come out and have a snack. She was having some cheese crackers and I was helping Ryan with something in the other room. When we came back in the room this is what we saw!
She just wore herself out at nursery and this is one thing that she has NEVER done before but we just thought it was the cutest thing that she just couldn't keep her eyes open any longer!

First Big Snow!

I was soooo excited when we woke up this morning to see the snow. It is so beautiful outside and it is so fun to be cozy and warm inside and watch the big flakes coming down! Anyway I always love the first big snow storm of the year!

A little clarification!

There has been some talk about the new video we have on here- Yes Marica I did say "Go Cougars" only to get Sydney to say it for the camera- I, myself am a utah fan but Ryan is a BYU fan. His parents have always had season tickets to the Y but I used to have tickets to the U. I will say though that I think Ryan's family is starting to convert me! Actually to be honest I like both teams but I have always just liked the U! But from the looks of things Sydney's daddy has her sights set on the Y already! Anyway just to clear up the confusion!

I have been Tagged!

So here are the rules- You have to post six things about yourself and then tag someone else to post on their blogg- I was tagged a while ago sorry it took me so long! But here it goes...

1- I love reality TV. I don't know what it is that I love so much but pretty much I will watch any reality show at least once to see if it is a keeper! Some of the faves are The Bachelor, Amazing Race, and there is a show called Run's House that makes me laugh so hard!

2- I watch the news every day. If I can't watch it I will be on the computer reading it. My favorite place to get the news is probably aol.com.

3- I am with my cousin Brooke on this one- I love to shop for clothes and toys for my little Sydney. I hate shopping for myself but something for her I could shop all day. I love to go to little baby shops all over town!

4- Sweets are pretty much an addiction. I love anything sweet. Whether it's chocolate, ice cream or what ever I am a sucker for the sweets!

5- Another thing I love is to go out to eat. I know I should cook for my husband (which I do) but I really like to go out to eat. There are the regulars that we go to Outback Steakhouse, El Matador, Cafe Rio, Olive Garden but I also (mostly with my mom) like to try new places around town. We have been to some pretty crazy places but also some great ones as well.

6- Finally I love spending time with my family! My husband and Sydney or all the fam. Ryan's family is great to be with and we have a good time and also when I say my family I mean everyone-not just mom, dad, Adam, Tiff all my cousins, grandma and grandpa aunts uncles I always look forward to times that we get to spend together!

So there are a few things about me that you might not have known!
I don't really know who hasn't been tagged so I will get back to you on who I am tagging!

Our baby is growing up!

The past few weeks I have really noticed how much Sydney is growing up! She went to nursery for the first time last sunday. Seeing her with all the big kids just makes me want to cry because she is growing up right before my eyes! She is talking like crazy. She loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle little star and when we put her to bed at night I lay her down and she looks up at me and says " Twinkle mommmy, twinkle" So we sing that song almost every night! She is learning to count to ten. She does it with Ryan and actually is getting the hang of it! She loves to play with her cousins and they always have a good time. Her other cousin Cameron lives far away but we look at his picture often and she always is asking for him! Her favorite thing to watch in TV is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When she first gets up in the morning she asks for Mickey! She is such a girl and loves her dolls. She has a doll with her almost all the time and she treats them so good! I mostly wanted to write this about her for myself to remember some of the things that she is doing right now but it is always fun to look at other kids and see how they are doin!

Halloween Pumpkin

I know it is a little past Halloween but since the move I have not even looked at my pictures but I decided to dig them out and show you my cute pumpkin! Sydney had a lot of fun this Halloween. She went trick or treating a little and loved wearing her pumpkin costume!!

She is showing you her sucker that she got for trick or treating! She takes after her mom and loves anything sweet :)

Crazy Days!!

We have had a few pretty crazy weeks lately. We have FINALLY moved into our new house and are loving it so much. I never thought I would enjoy cleaning and taking care of something of my own so much but we love it. We still have a garage full of stuff that needs to be put away but we are slowly getting there! I am a little disapointed because we can't get the internet where we live so the only time I can get in is when I am at my parents house. Hopefully something will open up soo for us to get on! Anyway then we had Halloween! It was very fun this year and I think Sydney had a good time. She was a pumpkin and the cutest one I have ever seen! I will post some pictures soon! Ryan is just continuing with work and will hopefully be having some changes soon so we will see what happens! Anyway so my life has been a little crazy lately but I will try to be better about posting for my little family!

Sea World, Universal Studios, and Wicked

The last few days we went to Sea World, Universal Studios and then Saturday we went to see the musical Wicked. Sydney absolutly loved Sea World. She loves fish and she thought it was the coolest thing to see all the fish. She loved the star fish. She was fearless and would pick them up out of the water and play with them. At Universal Studios she moslty just stayed in the stroller because there was not much for her to do except for play with her cousin Brennon! She loves him so much and they are such good friends. On Satuday we left the kids back at that hotel and Ryan, me, Natalie, Brian and Alexa got to go and see Wicked. It was such a good show. If you ever get the chance you sould go and see it! Sunday we got up and headed for the airport. This time without any problems and made it home safe and sound! We had such a wonderful time in California!

Day Three: Disneyland and California Adventure

On Wednesday we went back to Disneyland and then to California Adventure. They have a little kid area so Sydney had fun playing there with her cousins.

Our next day we headed to Disneyland- The Happiest Place on Earth! We had a good time riding all the rides and doing all there is to do there. Sydney was only big enough to ride a couple of rides but she definatly had a good time doing the ones that she could. Ryan and I always enjoy Splash Mountain so of course we hit that one. Disneyland is decorated for Halloween and the Mickey out front is all made of pumpkins so it was fun to see it a little different!

Day One: Wild Animal Park and the beach

Once we finally arrived in California at about 11:30 pm on Sunday all we could think about was getting into bed. So the next morning we were refreshed and headed out to the Wild Animal Park. Sydney really like the animals. I think because they were not very close and we were riding a train.

This is Sydney with her glasses. They are her favorite thing and she loved to wear them. I was pretty suprised that she kept them on!

This picture is funny because at first Sydney wanted nothing at all to do with the sand or the water. She likes to always be clean so when the sand stuck to her she was not happy but once she saw her cousins playing she warmed up to the idea, we could not keep her out of the water. This was on a beautiful beach in La Jolla!

We finally made it :)

We have had quite the trip so far but we are finally here in sunny southern California! Our day started out on Sunday. Our flight was suppose to leave at 11:30. First class had boarded already and they came over the loud speaker and told us that our flight had been canceled. It was then a mad dash to reschedule our flights along with the rest of the people on our flight. We had quite the ordeal getting a new flight but we finally found something at 4:30. Looking at the clock we didn't have enough time to go home but it was such a long day in the airport espically with an 18 month old! We were only able to fly into San Diego but our rental car and hotel were in Newport Beach. Once we landed we had another hour and a half taxi ride up to Newport. We finally made it about 11:30 that evening! My what a day. Sydney has been such a angel though. I don;t know what we would have done if she wasn't so easy going! We got up this morning and decided to go to the wild animal park. After getting lost we finally arrived and had a good day with the animals. After that we went over to La Jolla to the beach. It was beautiful and we played in the water. Sydney was very skeptical at first but she warmed up to the idea and then we couldn't keep her away from the water! So after the never ending day trying to get here- we finally made it and were able to start a wonderful trip! So tomorrow we are off to Disneyland-so hopefully we will have no kinks! I will post some pictures as soon and we get them off our camera.

Soggy Saturday

Today was kind of a miserable day because it rained and snowed all day long. Ryan had a soccer game and I definitely didn't want to sit in the rain so a friend and I did some shopping and then we watched the second half from the car. I am so proud of Ryan that he gets out there and has a fun time doing something that he loves. He is such a good athlete (don't mind me for bragging for a minute:) but he is so much fun to watch and he has given us so many opportunities during our marriage to enjoy sports and doing things that we both enjoy so much! Now on to some better news- Sydney went to the bathroom in the potty the other day! She is 17 1/2 months old and she has gone on the potty. I was getting her out of the tub the other day and she suddenly got that look on her face and I realized she didn't have a diaper on so I hurry and just sat her on the potty and she went. I of course made a big deal out of it and let her flush and everything and I kind of just thought it was a one time thing but later in the day we were playing dolls and she dropped her dolly and ran to the bathroom and told me she needed to go. I wasn't sure if she really did but I took her diaper off and put her up there and sure enough she went. She has done it about four times now in the past three days. She is no where near being potty trained but I sure think it is a good start! I am so proud of her! Anyway so that was our Saturday and now I am off to watch the rest of the BYU game. (I can't believe I just said that :)

Knuckles

Sydney is such a funny girl! She is like a little tape recorder and says anything that you want her to say. The first part of this video was her being very sneaky with a pen but after it is her newest trick that daddy taught her! Enjoy

Pig Tails

On Sunday for church we decided to try Sydney's hair in pig tails! I was shocked to see how well her hair went. People tell me all the time they can't believe how much hair she has but when I look at it like this I can't believe it. I am now looking at my little girl and not my baby anymore. Time goes so fast but we are havung such a good time!

House Update!

I know I have been saying lately that we are getting closer and closer to moving in our house but this time we really are. The carpet guys are coming tomorrow and then we should be able to move in in the next few days! We can't wait and are looking forward to having a place of our own. I found the very first flyer that we got from the house and from the pictures we have made a lot of changes! I told Ryan the other day that we will pretty much have a new house! We are so gratefuil for all the help we have recievied from Adam, my parents, Ryan's parents, Ryan' brother in-law and many more but it is so great to be loved and have the support of so many people!

Old Friends

One of my best friends from growing up got married last night (Congrats Adam and Erin :) Anyway it was so much fun to see all of my good friends that I have kind of lost touch with. Some of my friends had never even seen Sydney before so it was fun to show off my little girl. Friends are just the best things in the world. Ryan is such a trooper to come along with me and hang out with all of my friends but I know they really like him around also. We were talking last night and Ryan and I were the first to get married and now there are just a few left to take the big leap! We were laughing because we started talking about intrest rates and money and we all stopped and had to laugh because a few years ago that would have been the furtherst thing from our minds. It is kind of weird getting older but so much fun having a family and be a wife and mother! Anyway I just had a permnant smile last night seeing all of the people that have been such a big part of my life! Freinds are the best :)

Little Mommy

So I figured out pictures all on my own! Anyway I can't believe how much of a little mom Sydney is. She loves babies and her dolls she treats just like a real baby. Ryan took these pictures of her the other day. She had just gotten out of bed and she immediatly wanted her dolly and purse. We just laugh all the time with her! She even knows how to hold them correctly-So Cute!! ( I actually don't know how to rotate them yet but I will learn :)

New Blog

So I finally decided to jump on the band wagon and start a blog for our little family. If for nothing else to keep track of all the crazy things that happen in our lives! Sydney is sleeping and so I finally decided that I wanted to do this. The first thing that I guess I need to do is figure out how to post pictures on here so you can all see my cute little family! Pictures will come hopefully tomorrow but that is all for now.
